The property

Welcome to our house
 in Beaune,  Burgundy, France
The house was fully refurbished in 2008 and we think it dates back to the 1700s. It has been refurbished and remodelled incorporating all the old attractive timber and stone features of the building and fully insulated with new current standards of insulation, all external windows and doors are double glazed.
We have used as much natural material as possible making the house ecologically friendly.
Local burgundian stone has been used on the main floor areas, combined with granite, limestone and timber in other areas of the house.
The kitchen area also has local stone worktops and splash backs with solid oaks doors and stone sink. The first bathroom also has two solid stone sinks set on a special teek timber unit.
The original oak shutters have been retained and give not only security but also act as cooling agents during the hotter weather keeping the house cool and at a pleasant temperature. The heating, cooking and water heater is all electric and there are heaters in each room, with underfloor heating in the cellar lounge.
Set in its own private gardens, with private parking it is in the heart of Beaune within the historical architectural area. Just 2 minutes walk to the central square, Place Carnot, it is ideally placed for the shops, bars, restaurants and the historical sites in the centre of Beaune, all accessable on foot.
The location also gives easy access to the main road routes  to the north and south and the motorway is around 5 minutes drive away.
The private automatic electric gated entrance to the property, offers good secure parking within the grounds of the property.
The private gardens surrounded by high walls all round give a secluded and private atmosphere.
The garden  and the covered terrace offers the opportunity to sit out and breakfast, lunch or dine or just have an aperatif in complete privacy. The sunrise is at the front of the house and stays in the garden until late in the day.
Equipped with up to date equipment and a mixture of antique and modern furniture the house gives the ambiance of  a typical old but tastfully modernised property of the town.
The property also has wifi connection free for guests.
The property is ideal for 1 to 4 people

The grounds

The grounds of the property are surrounded by a private garden with walls all around, giving privacy and security. The entrance to the property and private parking is by remote controlled electric gates. 
The property still has the original well which goes down to the river that runs underground through the town.
